Reliance Precision Apprenticeship Scheme Open for Applications

Reliance Precision Limited (‘Reliance’) is pleased to announce that applications for its 2022 apprentice intake are now open.

Over the next few months, Reliance will be attending a number of careers events at schools in the Kirklees area including Honley High School, Shelley College and Colne Valley High School. The events allow students to find out more about the company and its apprenticeship scheme, whilst providing an opportunity for them to ask current apprentices about their experiences so far.

Fourth year apprentice Charles Mukoyi recently represented the scheme at Netherhall Learning Campus in Rawthorpe, Huddersfield. Charles, a former student of Netherhall, said:

“When returning to my old high school to talk to the students about Reliance and its apprenticeship scheme, I felt a sense of pride representing my company and I was pleased to see my old teacher who had always believed in me. The students seemed intrigued throughout the session, which is always a good sign. I have always felt like if someone had come to my high school and explained to me about the apprenticeship scheme at Reliance, I would have been able to start my career here much sooner. I feel honoured to give a first-hand account of apprenticeship life at Reliance to all of the students and to help them decide on their future, or at least guide them. This is one of the reasons I decided to become an apprentice ambassador for Reliance.”

Robert Farrell, Training School Team Leader, commented:

“I’m proud of Charles and the way he represented Reliance and our apprenticeship scheme. I’ve been told that he was a huge hit with the students and the experience was fantastic for his personal development. Our apprenticeship scheme has been running for over 60 years and it plays a vital role in ensuring that we are able to train and develop the specialist engineers the business requires. It’s important that we take the time to visit schools and colleges in the local area so that the students can speak to our apprentices and find out if a career at Reliance is right for them.”
