Reliance Welcomes 2024 Apprentice Intake

Aug 27, 2024

Reliance Precision Limited (‘Reliance’) is delighted to welcome its 2024 intake of apprentices: Elijah Jeffrey-Sullivan, Charlie Thornton, Drew Oddy, Samuel Fossey and Harry Booth.

The new apprentices started work last week and have been settling into Reliance’s Training School under the supervision of Training School Manager, Robert Farrell. Ahead of their start-date, the apprentices were invited to an opening evening with their parents or carers which provided an opportunity for their families to learn more about where they will be working, what training they will receive and what a typical week might look like in the Reliance Training School.

Reliance’s Training School is an EAL recognised facility which has been accredited by The Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) and The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). This year’s intake will benefit from Reliance’s investment in two EMCO training machines, which were commissioned earlier this year. The machines are designed to facilitate computer numerical control (CNC) training and have been purchased specifically for use in the Training School.

Robert comments:

“The recent investments we have made in the Training School will enable our first-year apprentices to learn how to program CNC machinery before they join the wider workforce in their second year. It should make a real difference in their training. I’d like to extend a warm welcome to our new intake of apprentices as they begin their careers at Reliance. I look forward to seeing them expand their engineering skills and knowledge over the coming years.”
